In an interview with News 18 Showsha, Charlie Vickers expressed his admiration for Kohli, stating that aside from being a big fan of the Australian cricket team, he holds Kohli in high regard. Charlie recounted his experience meeting Kohli, describing how nervous he felt during their encounter. Despite his anxiety, he appreciated the opportunity to meet one of his idols.
A Memorable Encounter
Recalling his time in Auckland, Vickers shared, “I was staying in the same hotel as Kohli. I was really nervous at that moment and couldn’t muster the courage to speak to him. Nevertheless, the experience was fantastic.” Adding to his Indian experience, Charlie mentioned that he had sung a song with the iconic Indian singer Asha Bhosle during his travels. Through this, he gained insights into Bollywood, an industry he had yet to explore extensively. Charlie noted, “My only connection to Indian cinema has been through cricketers.”

Although the cast of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ visited India for promotional activities for the first season, Vickers was unable to join them. However, he mentioned that his co-stars, who traveled to Mumbai, had shared wonderful stories about their experiences. At that time, he was in Mexico City, missing the opportunity to explore the vibrant culture of India.

In the same interview, Charlie expressed his eagerness to return to India and even suggested requesting a special lunch prepared by the chef at the Taj Mahal Hotel.
