Pakistan cricket team somehow won the ICC T20 World Cup-2022 has made it to the semi-finals. In the first semi-final, this team will now face New Zealand. But before this match, former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has vented his anger on the team. Pakistan had defeated Bangladesh in their last Super-12 match and after this victory, captain Babar Azam, coach Matthew Hayden encouraged the team players in the dressing room. Akram got angry on this.
According to Akram, it is not good to see such videos coming out of the dressing room. He believes that some things related to the team should remain inside the team and they should not come out. He believes that the things in the dressing room are not for the outsiders to know.
Had I been there, I would have caught that person – Akram
Akram said that if he had been in Babar Azam’s place, he would have caught the person who made the video. Talking on A-Sports, Akram said, “If I was Babar Azam, I would have caught the player who was making the video. Sometimes some things remain private. I don’t mind social media, meeting players’ fans, conversations. But I haven’t seen any other team doing this in this World Cup. Therefore, the urge to get extra likes, followers should be ended. This is too much.”
‘Go somewhere other than the dressing room’
Akram said that if he had been there, he would have told the makers of the video to go somewhere other than the dressing room and do this work. He said, “Recordings happen all the time. Imagine if I were there and I didn’t know someone was recording – that’s the message I want to convey to the team. I would tell him, take rest for two days. Doing this work elsewhere but not in the dressing room.
Bangladesh After the victory and entry into the semi-finals, the team’s captain Babar Azam had encouraged his players in the dressing room. He had praised Mohammad Harris and advised him to come after finishing the match as well. A video of Matthew Hayden motivating the players of the team also surfaced. This was not the first time though. Earlier, when Pakistan had lost against India, even then the video of Babar’s dressing room surfaced.
