WhatsApp India chief Abhijit Bose has resigned from his post. Rajiv Agarwal, director of public policy at Facebook, has also left the company. Bose was made the head of WhatsApp for the first time for any country. He was given this post in the year 2018. He was given the task of expanding the reach of the messaging app in India and handling the WhatsApp payments business. Earlier, Bose was the co-founder of payments company Ezetap. Earlier this year, Razer Pay acquired Ezetap.
Confirming the news, Meta India said that the incident is not related in any way to the recent reports. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced that the company is planning to lay off 11,000 people, which will reduce 13 percent of the company’s workforce.
