What India Thinks Today: How India will win 50 medals in Olympics? Pullela Gopichand replied

Olympic medalists Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu are the disciples of Gopichand.

Pullela Gopichand, the national coach of Indian badminton, spoke big about India’s performance in the Olympics. He told that if India performs better in the Olympics, then important steps will have to be taken for it.

TV9’s Global Summit What India Thinks Today In India’s legendary badminton player and coach Gopichand told that if India wants to win 50 medals in the Olympics, then what needs to be done for that. The All England Champion and Gopichand said, ‘For this, we have to proceed in a scientific way. The efforts made by the government in the last few years are yielding good results. To achieve this target of 50 medals, we will have to work closely.

India is at a good level in badminton

Gopichand is the Chief National Coach of Badminton. He told that the country has reached a good level in badminton, although for 50 medals, the country will have to work very closely. He said, ‘To achieve this target of 50 medals, we have to work very closely. Talking about Badminton, in this game we have reached that level where we can achieve this level. For this, we have to test the player on the basis of his fitness and talent. Take them too, take them too and work accordingly, this will not happen. The selection of players will have to be very careful. In today’s date, we need to pay special attention to the players instead of the useless things.

Bhutia said that the dream of 50 medals will not be fulfilled in 2024

Former Indian captain Baichung Bhutia, who was present at the ceremony, said that at present it will take time for India to win 50 medals. He praised the plans of the central governments, but at the same time made it clear that the dream of 50 medals will not be fulfilled in the Paris Olympics to be held in the year 2024. Bhaichung said, ‘Very good plans come from the Centre. Khelo India is also a good plan, but when it lands on the ground, the state also gets involved in it. In the states, the bus is trialled and released at the ground level. Players are not constantly monitored. If trials are held in a big city, then only players from that city are found, players from nearby areas are left out. People do not find talent in small villages. We need to work on that. To be honest, I can say that in 2024 we will not get 50 medals. We have to live and see in reality. It is possible to get 50 medals, but it will take time.
