UP: 86 lakh elderly and women will get double pension from January 1, 1000 rupees will be available every month
In the state of Uttar Pradesh, a provision has been made by the Yogi government to give pension amount every month to various needy sections of the state. Under which financial assistance will be given in the form of pension every month to the eligible beneficiaries. Let us tell you that every month, financial assistance of Rs 500 is given to the elderly and women through DBT in their bank accounts by the government.
Recently, the Yogi government has released a supplementary budget, in which it has been announced to increase the pension amount received under the ongoing pension schemes in the state.
86 lakh elderly and women will get double pension from January 1
All pensioners in Uttar Pradesh will get double the pension from the beginning of the new year. The Yogi government has doubled the pension for the pensioners as a gift for the new year. Let us tell you that after presenting the supplementary budget, the Honorable Chief Minister has increased the pension amount to the beneficiaries under many other pension schemes apart from the elderly and women. The Social Welfare Department under the government has decided to increase the pension amount keeping in mind the rising inflation and other related things during the Kovid epidemic. This decision will benefit 86 lakh poor elderly and women.
1000 rupees will be available every month
500 rupees pension is sent every month by the government to all the poor and helpless elderly and women in Uttar Pradesh, so that they can be helped in their living. But now the government has announced to increase this pension amount from next year. Let us tell you that the amount of old age pension and widow / destitute pension to women has now been doubled. Now the amount of Rs 500 per month for all the elderly and women has been increased to Rs 1000 per month. The increased pension amount will start getting from January 2022 next year. So far 56 lakh elderly people are getting the benefit of old age pension scheme. On the other hand, to give pension amount to 20 lakh destitute women, the government will need an additional amount of Rs 425.25 crore. This has been told in the mandate issued by Anita C Meshram, Principal Secretary, Women’s Welfare Department.
Announcement of pension increase made in supplementary budget
The Uttar Pradesh government presented a supplementary budget on December 15, in which the government has increased the pension amount given to various sections in the state. Let us tell you that in this sequence, the government has also increased the pension amount for women and old people. Not only this, in addition to the amount received under the Ayushman Bharat scheme separately for women, an amount of Rs 5 lakh has also been fixed. These will be provided for the treatment of serious diseases caused to women.
This increase in the pension amount by the Uttar Pradesh government will be applicable from the beginning of next year i.e. from January 2022. Which means that all the beneficiaries will get the pension amount of 1000 rupees from next month. On the other hand, for your information, let us tell you that the increase in pension to the disabled has been implemented from this month.
