Toyota introduces new special edition of Camry with V6 engine and 8-speed automatic transmission

The Toyota Camry Nightshade comes with a new exterior color scheme, some design changes and a new set of engine options to give the version a sporty appeal for the global market.

There are three options of Nightshade Mood colors namely Midnight Black, White, and a new one called Reservoir Blue. Available with FWD, AWD and Hybrid four-cylinder engines, this design package features aggressive mesh inserts adopted from the Camry TRD model. There is also a black grill.

Apart from this, it also gets a rear spoiler, mirror, lid and black exterior emblem. A new touch has also been given to the black framed headlamps and taillights. The Camry Nightshade uses 19-inch alloy wheels on all four legs with a matte bronze finish, while the SE variant gets sport-tuned suspension.

No significant changes have been made to the interior and only technical changes have been made to the suspension, which was tuned to give a sportier look. As for the hybrid model, the new Camry is set to offer five identical trim variants along with a combined fuel efficiency rating of 22 kmpl. Then, there are also three top-of-the-range V6 models which include XLE, XSE and TRD.
Engine of Toyota Camry Nightshade
As for the engine, the sedan with a safety rating of Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS offers the option of a standard 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 203 hp and an optional 3.5-litre V6 engine producing 310 hp. does. The engine will come mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. As for the hybrid version, it will be powered by a 2.5-litre Atkinson engine with a combined power output of 208 hp.
