If you are also planning to book Toyota Hilux Pickup Truck, Toyota’s latest offering, then there is bad news for you. In fact, Toyota Hilux is one of the most awaited launches in the Indian car market this year and the pickup vehicle was unveiled last month and bookings were also opened. Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Thursday informed that it is now temporarily stopping bookings. The company has to take this step due to issues like high demand and supply.
The official launch of the Hilux Pickup Truck India will take place in March and bookings were earlier opened for an amount of Rs 1 lakh at the dealership or Rs 50,000 through the company’s online portal. In a media statement on Thursday, Toyota claimed that it has received a strong response, though the company did not share any booking figures as it also said that bookings are being put on hold.
A Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) spokesperson said, “However, due to various factors affecting our vehicle supply, we are unable to meet the increased demand. We deeply regret the temporary suspension of booking for Hilux to avoid any inconvenience to our customers. The company said that there is no need to be disappointed, they are doing their best to resume Hilux bookings soon.
However, Toyota has stated that bookings will be opened once again but it is not specified when. The Hilux will be offered with an attractive exterior design. It will get a 2.8-litre diesel engine option with multiple drive modes. It will generate power output of 204 Bhp and torque of 420 Nm.
