RP Group of Companies (RP Group) Chairman B Ravi Pillai (B Ravi Pillai) has Airbus H145 Helicopter ,Airbus H145 helicopter) has made headlines, he is the first Indian to do so. The 68-year-old businessman has an estimated worth of over USD 2.7 billion (Forbes 2022) and works outside the UAE with around 70,000 people under his employment in different companies. Airbus took this helicopter to Ravi Pillai in Kovalam, Kerala. The RP Group owns several luxury hotels in the state, with helipads in three hotels – Raviej Kovalam in Thiruvananthapuram, Raviej Kadavu in Kozhikode and Raviej Ashtamudi in Kollam.
The last one was the destination of the helicopter’s first post-delivery flight, in which its owner was on board. The Airbus H145 is available in different configurations for different uses – passenger transport, law enforcement and emergency medical service. The passenger variant has a seating capacity of 4 to 10 people as well as 1 or 2 pilots. It is capable of flying at an altitude of 20,000 feet above sea level.
100 crores is the cost of the helicopter
It is being told that there is a seven-seater variant owned by Ravi Pillai. The cost of the helicopter has been estimated to be around Rs 100 crore. Apart from being the first Airbus H145 in India, it is also the first five-blade model in the H145 series in Asia. Around 1,500 units of the Airbus H145 series are in service across the world. As per the manufacturer’s claims, the Airbus H145 is the most silent helicopter in its category. This twin engine model can cruise at a speed of 132 knots (approximately 244 kmph) and its 723 kg fuel tank offers a range of up to 650 km. The helicopter can carry a maximum cargo of 1,905 kg or up to 1,600 kg on hook.

In 1978, after his construction business in India was forced to close following labor strikes, we moved to Saudi Arabia. There, he built the RP Group into a multi-billion-dollar business and used some of that capital to invest in several businesses in Kerala.
