The Renault Chiger was introduced by Renault India in February 2021, just a few months after the Nissan Magnite sibling was introduced in the domestic market. Prices of the Kiger compact SUV based on the CMF-A+ platform start at Rs. 5.64 lakhs and go up to Rs. 10.09 lakhs (ex-showroom). The Chiger has an attractive styling with a practical and an economical engine.
The new Tata Safari attracts customers who prefer a seven-seater SUV. It competes with Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV700. Tata Safari price ranges between Rs 14.99 Lakh and Rs 23.19 Lakh (ex-showroom).
Launched in June 2021, the Alcazar is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that churns out 159 PS power and 191 Nm torque. Its price ranges from Rs 16.30 lakh to Rs 20.14 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Skoda Kushak is the first model under the Bharat 2.0 project and is underlined on the local MQB A0 IN platform. The mid-size five-seater has good handling features. Its price ranges from Rs 10.8 lakh to Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom).
To bring its all-new generation i20 premium hatchback last year, the i20 N line was introduced in September 2021. The five-seater car comes with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The micro SUV Tata Punch was launched in October 2021 and is currently one of the hot-sellers for the domestic manufacturer. Based on the ALFA platform, this five-seater car has received a global NCAP rating of five stars and the AMT gets high ground clearance, 90-degree opening doors, a stable ride quality and Traction Pro mode for better off-roading. Its price ranges from Rs 5.49 lakh to Rs 9.09 lakh (ex-showroom).
The units of MG Astor have been sold for the year 2021. The first batch of 5,000 units of the car was booked in less than 20 minutes. The five-seater car directly rivals the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun and Skoda Kushaq. Its starting price is Rs 9.78 lakh (ex-showroom).
The second generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio was launched in November 2021 and is priced between Rs 4.99 lakh and Rs 6.94 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the lightweight Heartect platform, the new Celerio has been completely revamped and the list of features has also been improved. The car gives a mileage of 26.68 kmpl.
