The iOS16 update will not be available on any smartphone prior to the iPhone 8.

According to the company, the new 16 update will not be available on the first models of iPhone 8 i.e. iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and first generation iPhone SE. Apple launched these models in the year 2016. Whereas the 6 Series was launched in the market in 2015. This means that for 6-7 years, Apple was continuously providing updates on its smartphone, which is much better than Android. Currently, Samsung and Nokia are promising only 3 years of software updates and 5 years of security updates to their customers.

The company has also said that Apple will continue to provide new software updates for all models of iPhone 8 and above. The company will roll out this update for all iPhone users by this year.
