According to the information, the updated Wagon R will be available in the showrooms by the end of March 2022. The car will be offered with new exteriors and interiors.
The 3rd generation Wagon R entered the local market in early 2019. The entry-level hatchback was the top selling model in CY2021 with sales of 1,83,851 units as compared to 1,48,298 units with a sales growth of 24 per cent during the same time period last year.
Possible Specifications of New Maruti Wagon R
A media report suggested that the upcoming hatchback may come with updated bumpers. Similar to the new-gen Celerio, the top-end variant could get 15-inch alloy wheels, upholstery changes, hill hold assist technology, idle start/stop technology to save fuel. But it will have to wait and see whether they will be introduced or not.
The list of features could be similar to that of the high-end trims. It will continue to offer a seven-inch SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. For performance, the existing 1.2-litre K12M petrol engine can be paired with a 1.2-litre four-cylinder DualJet petrol engine producing 90 PS and 113 Nm. A 1.0-litre three-pot petrol can also be given in this.

Apart from this, the company is also working on another new launch. The company’s list also includes the revised Ertiga, XL6 and Wagon R. According to the information, in the middle of this year, Maruti Suzuki will launch a midsize SUV developed in collaboration with Toyota. It is believed that the new SUV will compete with the existing Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushak in the market. The company may come with a completely redesigned exterior and interiors before the new generation Brezza around April or May 2022.
