According to the company’s annual report, ITC employees earning more than Rs 1 crore annually during the recently ended financial year 2021-22 (employee) has seen an increase of 44 percent. The latest annual report of ITC said that the number of employees earning more than Rs 8.5 lakh per month or Rs 1 crore per year has increased to 220 in the last financial year. Whereas in 2020-21 this much salary (salary) used to get 153 employees.

It has been said in the annual report that in the last financial year, 220 employees of the company were getting Rs 1.02 crore annually. Which is more than Rs 8.5 lakh per month. On the other hand, in FY22, ITC Chairman and Managing Director Sanjiv Puri got a total salary of Rs 12.59 crore, which is 5.35 percent more than the previous year. In the previous financial year, Puri’s total salary was Rs 11.95 crore. Puri’s total salary in 2021-22 includes salary of Rs 2.64 crore, other benefits of Rs 49.63 lakh and performance bonus of Rs 7.52 crore. The annual report states that Puri’s salary is 224 times the average salary of all the employees. ITC executive directors B Sumant and R Tandon have taken a salary of over Rs 5.5 crore in FY22.
Total number of employees decreased
The total strength of ITC employees as on March 31, 2022 was 23,829, which is 8.4 percent less than the previous financial year. This includes 21,568 male and 2,261 female employees. Apart from the permanent employees, there were 25,513 more employees working with the company. The total strength of ITC employees as on 31st March, 2021 was 26,017. In 2021- 22, the average salary of ITC employees increased by 7 percent. There has been an increase of 8 percent in the salary of senior employees. ITC income for the financial year ended March 31, 2022 stood at Rs 59,101 crore as against Rs 48,151.24 crore a year ago
