Earlier, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the clause of giving special state title to Jammu and Kashmir served as a cover to the militants and their patrons. Six Applicants, including former Air Vice Marshal Kapil Kak, Major-General Ashok Mehta (Retd.), have challenged the Jammu and Kashmir reconstruction bill and the government’s decision to lift Article 370.n They filed an appeal in the Supreme Court on Saturday.

Gopal Pillai was the Union Home Secretary in 2011. They demanded in their petition that the amendment would hit the decisions that Jammu and Kashmir had made with India for this decision of Article 370. They said that before the amendment, the opinion of the people of the state was no longer approved, which is a constitutional imperative in the interest of the state.
