Elaine Fox, the privacy head of Tiktok in Europe, has said in her statement that some employees of her company have permission to access users’ data, because their job is like this. There is a protocol for this and for this a process has to be followed. This process has been prepared under the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union.
People sitting in other countries can also access data
Elaine Fox has further explained that not only in China but also selected employees working in their group sitting in other countries of the world have been allowed access to data. It requires a special protocol and approval. Data access can be done not only in China but also by employees sitting in countries like Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and the United States of America.
Tiktok is already banned in India
Tiktok has been banned in India during the year 2020. Short video clips were shown on this app, which helped the users to keep themselves connected for a long time. However, later the government banned it. Now a feature like Tiktok can be seen in YouTube shorts and Instagram reels. Both these formats are also becoming very popular in India.
