Sitharaman said that the opposition should not do politics on inflation. The Finance Minister said in his speech that India is progressing rapidly even in the face of adversity. Nirmala Sitharaman said that it is also necessary to see where the world is going. He further said that do not make fun of me without hearing the answer. The Finance Minister said that it is not right to compare inflation with other countries.
Finance Minister cited GST collection
During her speech in the Lok Sabha, Finance Minister Sitharaman said that this morning we have announced the GST collection for the entire month of July. He said that in July 2022, we have achieved the second highest figure since the introduction of GST, which is Rs 1.49 lakh crore. He said that this is the fifth consecutive month, when the GST collection has been more than Rs 1.4 lakh crore.
Sitharaman further said that efforts are being made to bring down retail inflation below 7 percent. Referring to GST and macro data, he said that the Indian economy is becoming stronger. He said in the speech that there is no question of India going into stagflation or recession. The Finance Minister said that India remains the fastest growing economy in the assessment of global agencies.
