The date of June 22 is very important and special in the life of former Team India captain and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly.  On the same day he scored a century in his debut Test. In the first innings of the Indian team against England at the historic Lord's ground, Ganguly came out to bat at number three.  He faced 301 balls and scored 131 runs.  He hit 20 fours in his innings.  The left-handed batsman added 94 runs for the sixth wicket with Rahul Dravid.  (ICC Twitter)

Under the captaincy of Mike Atherton, England scored 344 runs in their first innings, in which wicket-keeper batsman Jack Russell (124) was the key. This clean of Ganguly continued for years.  He brought success to the team as a player as well as a captain.  Ganguly played 113 Tests and 311 ODIs for India.
