Xiaomi
Xiaomi has once again become number one in terms of phone shipments in the first quarter of 2022. Xiaomi continued to dominate the overall phone shipments with a share of 23.3 per cent. These figures also include shipments of Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco. At the same time, Xiaomi stood second in the country in the 5G segment with the Mi 11i series and Redmi Note 11T phones. Xiaomi had 8.5 million smartphone units in phone shipments in the first quarter of 2022.
Samsung
Samsung has also maintained its second position in this list. The company’s Galaxy S22 series was a hit in the first quarter of 2022. The company’s share in overall shipments stood at 19 percent. But, in terms of shipments of 5G phones, Samsung remained at number one in the country. The Galaxy M32 and Galaxy A22 played a major role in making Samsung the biggest player in the 5G segment. The company’s 7 million smartphone units were included in the phone shipments.
realme
Reality, which ranked third in terms of phone shipments, registered a huge increase of 46 percent. However, the average selling price (ASP) of the company was around Rs 11,000. At the same time, in the online space, Reality remains ahead with 24 percent share. The company’s affordable C series performed well in the first quarter of 2022. Vivo’s 55 lakh smartphone units were included in the phone shipment.
Vivo
There has been a decline of 17 percent in Vivo’s shipments. However, in terms of offline channels, Vivo continues to lead with 24 percent share. With the help of Vivo’s T series launch and its sub-brand iQOO, its shipments may increase in the coming quarter. In terms of shipments in the first quarter of 2022, Vivo stood at number four with 5.5 million smartphone units with a share of 15 per cent.
OPPO
Oppo stood at number five in the country with 9.6 per cent shipment share. The company also focused heavily on the mid premium Reno 7 series to increase its share. Apart from this, Oppo also launched the K series in the online segment. Currently, Oppo had 3.5 million smartphone units in overall shipments in the first quarter of 2022. It registered a decline of 4.6 percent as compared to the previous year.
