RSS Kicks Off Three-Day Meeting in Palakkad, Kerala: Key Discussion Topics

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has inaugurated its All India Coordination Meeting on Saturday in Palakkad, Kerala. This significant three-day assembly is set to continue until September 2, 2024, under the leadership of RSS Chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat. Aimed at addressing critical national issues, the meeting gathers approximately 300 volunteers and leaders from various affiliated organizations.

Key Highlights of the Meeting

Present at the meeting were senior leaders, including General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale and Union Health Minister JP Nadda, along with all six co-general secretaries of the RSS. This annual meeting serves as a platform for discussing pressing matters facing the country and the organization’s future direction.

Discussion on Wayanad Landslide

Before the assembly, Sunil Ambekar, All India Publicity Chief, emphasized the meeting’s purpose of deliberating on national issues. The gathering opened with discussions concerning the recent landslide in Wayanad, where RSS volunteers shared their experiences of helping affected individuals and communities.

Focus on Key Issues

This All India Coordination Meeting marks the first of its kind held in Kerala, despite previous national-level gatherings in the state. The RSS, established in 1925, is preparing for its centenary celebration scheduled for 2025. The centenary coincides with Vijayadashami, which will feature various initiatives focusing on nation building, community support, and social harmony. Plans to launch schemes related to family awareness, environmental protection, self-reliance, and citizen duties are also on the agenda.

Participation from Multiple Organizations

Representatives from many affiliated organizations are participating, including the Rashtriya Sevika Samiti, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Vishva Hindu Parishad, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Vidya Bharati, and the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh. The assembly comprises 230 representatives and 90 national-level RSS officials, highlighting the extensive involvement across the organization’s network.

Concerns Regarding Bangladesh

Another crucial topic on the agenda is the situation of the Hindu community in Bangladesh, particularly in light of a political coup that occurred on August 5, when Sheikh Hasina’s government was overthrown. Reports of violence against Hindus, including the burning of homes, vandalism, and destruction of properties, have raised alarms among the Indian leadership. The meeting is expected to address the plight of Hindus in Bangladesh, including issues related to displacement and rehabilitation efforts.

Conclusion

This three-day meeting is not only a platform for dialogue but also an opportunity for the RSS to strategize and strengthen its commitment to nation-building and social service amidst ongoing national and regional challenges. As the organization approaches its landmark 100th anniversary, its focus remains on combining tradition with proactive measures to enhance community welfare and national solidarity.
