Renault Austral SUV Revealed, Car Look Revealed, Powertrain Details Revealed

It comes with a range of hybrid powertrains that offer maximum power of up to 200 horsepower. The 2022 Renault is the first Renault model to use the Australian Alliance’s next-generation CMF-CD platform. The SUV is quite attractive in its design elements. At the rear, strong geometric lines have been provided with micro-optical technology like structure details. It has been designed with Renault’s new ‘Emotional Technology’, which has a pattern like LED taillights and diamond shape headlights.

With seven different exterior color options, the new Austral has been crafted with a special wheel design. Most of which are diamond-cut alloy wheels between 17 inches and 20 inches. The interior of the 2022 Renault Australian compact SUV comes with a hi-tech cockpit.

New Austral SUV Interior & Exterior

The interior of the new Austral SUV features a hi-tech cockpit with a large OpenR display that also pairs a 12-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment system along with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster. The new 9.3-inch display screen (Head Up Display) has been projected onto the windshield. It also has the option of self-adjusting brightness, which gives a more technical and more attractive look to the OpenR display interior.

The Renault Austral will come with a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine mated to an electric motor, 1.7 kWh lithium-ion 400V battery, and an intelligent multi-mode clutchless transmission. It gives power output of up to 200 hp. There is also an option to opt for a petrol engine with the 48V mild hybrid advanced unit that can generate a power output of 130 hp. The 12V mild hybrid unit can deliver a maximum output of up to 160 hp.

Each of the three electric motors in the new Austral has regenerative braking function. For the e-Tech Hybrid, one can select from four different modes with a button located behind the steering wheel.
