Sachin Dev Burman’s name was one of the leading composers of Hindi cinema. At the same time, talking about his mother, mother Meera Dev Burman was a lyricist. Hence, RD Burman belonged to a background where music stalwarts were present.

Asha and RD Burman met for the first time in the year 1956 during Raj Kapoor’s film ‘Boot Polish’. When Asha sang six songs for the first time in the film. But this meeting was not enough to unite them. 10 years later, in the year 1966, RD Burman was looking for a singer to sing in the film ‘Teesri Manzil’ when the name of Asha Bhosle came in his mind.

Both got married in the year 1960. The sad turning point in the lives of both of them very happy of marriage came when on January 4, 1994, RD Burman said goodbye to everyone at the age of 54. After his death, Asha was completely broken, but took care of herself and dedicated her life to music.
