Rajkummar Rao Opens Up About Pain After Stree 2 Success: Feared Being Excluded from Big Films

Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao and actress Shraddha Kapoor’s latest film ‘Stree 2’ is currently making waves at the box office. Since its release on August 15, the film has shattered numerous records and has proven to be a significant success, even surpassing the collections of films featuring big-name actors. ‘Stree 2’ is not just a commercial hit but also reaffirms Rajkummar Rao’s status as a stellar performer in the industry.

Overcoming Challenges in His Career

Rajkummar Rao has experienced a rollercoaster ride throughout his career, and while he may currently have a plethora of film offers, there was a time when he faced multiple rejections. Like every actor, he too had to endure periods of struggle. Recently, during an appearance on the Audible podcast ‘The Longest Interview,’ he reflected on the challenges he faced even when things seemed to be going well.

Memories of Struggle

Rajkummar recounted instances where he had been signed for films only to be removed from the projects for reasons beyond his control. He remarked, “There were one or two occasions when I was offered a film, everything seemed perfect, but for some reason, I was taken out of the project. I don’t see it as my failure but rather theirs for not handling things properly. Even when everything seemed right, I ended up being removed from the film.” He emphasized that these experiences taught him to always stay prepared.

Lessons from Rejections

However, Rajkummar chooses to view these instances not as failures but as invaluable lessons that helped shape his career. He stated, “Those experiences taught me to always be prepared. In hindsight, I realize it might have been for the best. Whether the film never got made or my character didn’t make an impact, I believe that when the universe is guiding you, everything eventually falls into place.”

Experiences from ‘Kai Po Che’

Rajkummar also shared his sentiments about his experience working on the film ‘Kai Po Che,’ an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘The Three Mistakes of My Life.’ He revealed, “When I was new in Mumbai, I came across the book and loved it. It featured three characters, and I hoped I’d get to play one of them if a film was made. I kept that wish close, and eventually, ‘Kai Po Che’ happened.” This highlights his raw passion for storytelling and his commitment to his craft.

Upcoming Projects and Career Highlights

Looking back on his career, Rajkummar Rao made his debut in 2010 with the film ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha’ and has since given audiences a slew of blockbuster hits. His performances in films such as ‘Aligarh,’ ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi,’ ‘Stree,’ and ‘Badhaai Do’ have garnered critical acclaim and shown his versatility as an actor. With each role, he has proven his ability to excel in diverse genres, enriching the Bollywood landscape.

Exciting Future

As for what lies ahead, Rajkummar is set to star in the upcoming film ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Wo Wala Video,’ alongside the talented Tripti Dimri. As he continues to take on new challenges and projects, fans eagerly await what this incredible actor will bring to the big screen next.
