The Chief Minister of the state was on a visit to East Midnapore district a few days ago. During that visit, a video of her went viral, where a state-run IPS officer is seen bowing down to his feet. Before touching the feet, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also served cake to the IPS officer. There has been a storm of condemnation all around to insult the Uniform to touch her feet.
According to reports, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited East Midnapore district and Dighar few days ago. There she feeds cakes to the grassroots leader and administration officials. It was reported that the reason for eating the cake was August 21, the day of director Securities Vinit Goel’s birthday. In that eight-second video, the Chief Minister first put the cake in the face of Vinit Goel, and later on the IPS Rajiv Mishra. After eating the cake, IPS Rajiv Mishra touched the CM’s feet and bowed.
BJP responds strongly with IPS officer Rajiv Shukla’s touch of feet wearing uniform. West Bengal BJP observer Kailash Vijayvargiya shared this video on Twitter, writing: “Uniform is down to the police in front of Didi. IG Rajiv Mishra of West Zone of West Bengal held the Chief Minister’s feet in Uniform. How is this system And what kind of democracy?”
When contacted, Rajiv Mishra was not found. He was tried multiple times but did not answer the phone. According to the All India Service Conduct Rule, a policeman may salute a constitutional officer while on duty. But no matter who he is, it is a punishable offense and a punishable offense against the Service Rule to touch the feet of other.
