PM Kisan: The number of beneficiaries has crossed 10 crores, the government’s answer to the allegations of the opposition

The opposition had alleged that the number of beneficiaries is decreasing with each installment. After this today the Ministry of Agriculture has shared the data related to the scheme. According to which, after 2019, the number of beneficiaries has increased almost 3 times.

According to the information given by the government, the number of beneficiaries under the scheme has now crossed the mark of 10 crores. Giving this information on Monday, the Central Government said that during the period of the first installment in the beginning of 2019, the number of beneficiaries was 3.16 crore. Thus the number of beneficiaries has increased more than three times. In fact, the opposition had raised questions on the government regarding the benefits of this scheme. After which the central government released the figures.

Figures in response to the allegations of the opposition

This information has actually been issued by the government a few hours after Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge attacked the government regarding this scheme. Kharge alleged that with every installment the number of beneficiaries has reduced. Although the central government has said that there is a continuous increase in it. The Ministry of Agriculture said in the statement, the number of issuance of benefits for any installment period under PM Kisan has now crossed 10 crore farmers. Initially this number was 3.16 crores. The ministry said, PM Kisan Yojana has successfully provided financial assistance of more than two lakh crore rupees to crores of needy farmers during more than three years.

What is the benefit of this scheme

Under this scheme, a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year is transferred to the bank accounts of farmer families. It was announced in February, 2019. This amount is being transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. The Central Government has so far released 12 installments under the scheme. The government releases the installment once in every 4 months which is deposited in the account of the beneficiaries.
