At the same time, the sales of the scooter came down from 4,58,122 units to 3,60,082 units as compared to last year. On the other hand, if we look at the figures for the whole year, during the year 2021-22, the total wholesale sales of passenger vehicles has increased by 13 percent to 30,69,499 vehicles. In 2020-21, 27,11,457 vehicles were sold. However, in the last financial year, the wholesale sales of two-wheelers have come down by 11 percent to 1,34,66,412 units. Which was at the level of 1,51,20,783 in the previous financial year. At the same time, the sales of three wheelers increased from 2,19,446 units to 2,60,995 in the last financial year.

SIAM President Kenichi Ayukawa said that the past year brought many challenges that were never seen before. However, the industry learned a lot from this. He also said that there is a recovery in the commercial vehicle and SUV segment, although there is a lot of pressure in the segment of two wheelers and small cars.
