Many big auto companies from other countries are offering their electric vehicles in India. One-Moto, the first British brand of premium EVs, has announced the launch of its new Electa, a high-speed electric scooter model in India at the EV India Expo. OneMoto is already known for expanding its footprint in the Indian electric mobility space. Earlier, the company rolled out two of its products in the two wheeler segment, One-Moto Boyaca and One-Moto Commuta.

The Electa electric scooter has been positioned as a premium offering and has been priced at ₹2 lakh (ex-showroom). The new high speed e-scooter has been designed keeping in mind the youth. The Electa is currently the company’s most expensive model, the Byka priced at ₹ 1.80 Lakh, while the Commuta is the cheapest of the three priced at ₹ 1.30 Lakh (all prices ex-showroom).

This is the company’s third offering in India.

The Electa is one-moto’s third high-speed scooter after the launch of the Comuta and the Byca here in November. All three products get support for One App, which has been given many attractive features like Geo-fencing, IoT and Bluetooth. But what sets the Electa apart is its 72V and 45A detachable lithium-ion battery that can be fully charged in four hours.

Before needing to plug back in, the company claims that the scooter offers a range of 150 km on a full charge and has a top speed of 100 kmph. The new scooter has been launched in 5 color options including Matte Black, Shiny Black, Blue, Red and Grey. While the display is analog, the Electa comes with hydraulic disc brakes on both the wheels and optional chrome upgrades. There is also a three-year warranty on the motor, controller and battery.

In view of the increasing demand for electric two wheeler in India, many big players are present in the market. And One-Moto is preparing to be a good player in those too. Shubhankar Choudhary, CEO, One-Moto India, said, “India is welcoming EV adoption, and we are focused on offering quality products to catalyze this. The idea is to launch high-speed quality premium products and start distribution in major metro cities. We want to not only serve the Indian customers with our scooters but also give them the complete experience while driving an ICE engine vehicle.”
