Today, the ED has also registered a case against Chitra Ramakrishnan for illegally tapping the phones of stock market employees.

Chitra Ramakrishnan, former MD of NSE Ed ,ED) has been arrested today. His arrest has come in a money laundering case related to illegal phone tapping case. The court gave the green signal for investigation in the case, after which the ED arrested the former MD. ED has got 4 days remand of Ramakrishna from the court. Today itself ED NSE (NSEA case of money laundering was also registered against Chitra Ramakrishnan for illegally tapping the phones of the employees of ) . Along with this, a case has also been registered against Ravi Narayan. , ED’s ECIR in this case is based on the FIR registered by CBI. Apart from Ramakrishna and Narayan, the CBI is also investigating I-Sec Services and former Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey.

what is the matter

In this case only last week, the CBI had filed a new case against Chitra Ramakrishna, Ravi Narayan and Sanjay Pandey. According to the FIR, the three accused had illegally tapped the phones of NSE employees between 2009 and 2017. Chitra and Narayan had appointed Sanjay Pandey’s company for this illegal surveillance. For now, the ED wants to know whether any wrongful advantage has been taken through this illegal surveillance. The matter came to the fore when the investigation was being conducted into the irregularities in the co-location facility in the stock market. SEBI was probing the co-location case. At the same time, EY India was given the responsibility of investigating the situation after the scam. The ED wants to know whether the phone tapping had any link with all these investigations.
