According to Volkswagen Company, more than 3,000 vehicles are being shipped from India to Mexico in the first phase of car exports. Skoda Auto Volkswagen started exporting from India in the year 2011. The company first exported 6,256 units of the Vento made in India for the South African market.
The company has exported more than 550,000 cars from India to several markets till June 2022, with Mexico being the largest market. Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) actually manages the Indian operations of five Volkswagen Group brands – Skoda, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche and Lamborghini.
