Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council President Haji Anat Ali, along with several prominent leaders of Kargil, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday. They joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Gajendra Singh. Apart from Haji Anayat Ali, Ladakh Autonomous Development Councilor, Kargil’s acting councilor Ali Hasan and six other leaders also joined BJP, after meeting with Jagat Prakash Nadda, the acting president of the BJP. Most of the leaders, including Anayat Ali, who joined the BJP, are members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Welcoming the members of the PDP to join the BJP, Ladakh’s BJP MP Jamien Sering Namgyal said that the state was happy over the entire state, including the Kargil district, to lift the two states from Jammu and Kashmir and separate Ladakh.

Haji Anayat Ali told the media that people in the Muslim majority district of Kargil do not demand a union-ruled state for Ladakh, but everyone is happy after the announcement of central government. Because from now on, the center will look directly at Ladakh’s problems, and solve them. This time, Ladakh will reach a new peak of development, which has not happened in the past five years. The names of Mohsin Ali, Zahir Hussein Babar, Kacho Gulzar Hussein, Asadullah Munshi, Mohammad Ibrahim and Tashi Sering were joined by Bharatiya Janata Party.
