KKR vs DC IPL Match Result: Kolkata crushed under the mountain of Delhi’s runs, defeated by 44 runs

KKR vs DC IPL 2022 Match: Batting first, Delhi Capitals scored 215 runs for five wickets. Prithvi Shaw and David Warner scored half-centuries from his side.

KKR under pressure in front of big target

KKR initially came under the pressure of big scores. Captain Shreyas Iyer (54 runs in 33 balls, five fours, two sixes) and Nitish Rana (30 runs off 20 balls, three sixes) added 69 runs for the third wicket to get the team out of the initial blow. But due to the widening gap between runs and balls, he kept losing wickets. KKR were finally out for 171 runs in 19.4 overs. Spinner Kuldeep took four wickets for 35 runs while fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed took three wickets for 25 runs. Shardul (2 for 30) took two wickets in the last over of the innings, including the wicket of Andre Russell (24).

Drama in the first over

The first over of KKR’s innings was eventful. Ajinkya Rahane survived the first two balls with the help of DRS while Venkatash Iyer (18 off eight balls) on the last ball was not appealed by bowler Mustafizur Rahman and any other player as the ball kissed the bat. Venkatesh took advantage of this and hit two sixes on Shardul but Khaleel sent him to the pavilion as soon as he came. However, in Khaleel’s next over, Shardul took the best catch of Rahane (eight runs off 14 balls). KKR could only manage 43 runs for two wickets in the powerplay.

Kuldeep took 3 wickets in 4 balls

Delhi Capitals batting condition

Batting first after losing the toss, Delhi made a strong start. Shaw maintained his form in the last match while Warner was also in the mood to play his natural game. Due to this, Delhi scored 68 runs for no loss in six overs of the powerplay. Whether it was a first-ball four by Umesh Yadav (1 for 48) or a six in deep square leg off Pat Cummins (4 overs, 51 runs), each of Shaw’s shots were confident. Was. Delhi lost 4 wickets in 18 runs

Pant also hit a six on Cummins after Chakraborty, while Warner completed his half-century by sending a slow delivery of Andre Russell for six runs. Pant, however, waved Russell’s ball in the air and could not stretch his innings. Due to this the run flow suddenly stopped. Delhi lost four important wickets within 18 runs. Narine sent Lalit Yadav (one) and Rovman Powell (eight) to the pavilion before the slog overs, while Umesh ended Warner’s innings, which was clearly under pressure from the other end.

Shardul-Akshar took over

In such a situation, Shardul and Akshar scored 39 runs in the last two overs. Both of them scored 23 runs in the 19th over of Umesh, which included two sixes from Shardul. Shardul ended the innings with a six on Cummins.
