Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal Movie Review : This romcom with dream combo can entertain only in different parts, but the acting of the stars is fine.

This film of Vijay Sethupathi, made on the love triangle with a very light-hearted comedy, does not manage to entertain much. However, the stars of the film have definitely left an impact in the film by acting.
Movie- Kathuvakkula Rendu Kaadhal
Cast- Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nayanthara
Director- Vignesh Shivan
Rating- 2.5 Star
Rambo, who lives a double life as a cab driver and a bouncer, falls in love with two women with opposite personalities. What happens when he is forced to make a choice? two people falling in love at the same time tamil cinema (Tamil Cinema) I do not have an unexplored territory, and this has been done through stars like Rajinikanth and Mohan. Kathuvakkula Rendu Kadhal ,Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, In, Vignesh Shivan (Vignesh Shivan) They also present a similar subject in their own style, which is full of humor and emotion. However, the treatment here doesn’t let you enjoy the film the way it was intended. The plot of the story is very predictable and the situations happen without any real conflict.
How is the story of Kathuvakkula Rendu Kaadhal?
The film begins with a young boy, Ranjankudi Anbarasan Murugesan Bupathy Ohondhiran aka Rambo, convincing his ailing mother that he is insane and that her presence can only harm him. Years later, we are shown a big Rambo (Vijay Sethupathi) who leads a double life, as a cab driver in the morning and a bouncer at night. In his two lives, he falls in love with Khatija (Samantha) and Kanmani (Nayanthara), two women with opposite personalities. After two women propose to him, Rambo feels that the mess in his life is over and he is getting everything he wanted in life. Trouble begins when reality hits and he is forced to choose between his two lovers.
Though the story is simple, Vignesh Shivan creates a separate universe for the three main characters with interesting back stories. While everything seems to be on track in the beginning, as the film progresses, the plot starts to waver. It turns out to be yet another romantic comedy without any purpose and fails to do justice to the dream combo of Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha. What we are missing here are the real struggles and complications involved in three-way love. When we expect things to take a serious turn, Shivan fills it with a humourous style. While his treatment may have been fine for a romcom style film, some scenes could have been scripted with confidence to connect with the audience.
How have all the three stars acted in the film?
Through Nayantara taking care of his sister and handicapped brother, how Sethupathi forms a bond with them and perhaps Shivan could have explored more on that. Rambo’s personal journey with both the ladies is quite interesting, but when the worlds collide, the film loses steam and all you can do is laugh at things going on and on.
Naytara and Samantha have complimented each other well, which proves why she is one of the most sought after actresses in the industry. Sreesanth, the cricketer who plays Samantha’s boyfriend, has done a good job and manages to impress in a small role. Cinematography and editing are both straightforward as there is not much scope for experimentation. Overall, Kathuvakkula Rendu Kadhal is worth a visit and can be enjoyed only in parts.
Kuch Aisa Hai’s background score and editing
A key savior of the film is Anirudh, who with his foot tapping numbers and emotional background score makes it a passable experience. The pairing of Anirudh and Vignesh Shivan, who combined a magical experience in Naanum Rowdy Than, manage to recreate the same though only in parts. The mere presence of Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha helps to elevate even the general scenes, despite the loose writing. A single-shot scene in which Vijay Sethupathi speaks a long dialogue again shows the skill of the actor and how a good actor can make a scene interesting is felt.
