Jet Airways ran into severe financial trouble in 2019, after which it was taken over by Dubai-based businessman Murari Lal Jalan and Florian Frisch, chairman of London-based financial services firm Colorrock Capital Management Ltd.

The consortium had said that Jet Airways would start flying in March this year, but the company had not ordered any new aircraft, so the flight could not start. After the company went into trouble, many of its aircraft have been leased to other airline companies. So Jet did not have any of its aircraft left.
