Deandra Dottin’s Impressive Batting and Tied Match
The fourth match of the WCPL 2024 saw the Trinbago Knight Riders face off against the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Batting first, the Knight Riders managed to score 128 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs. A significant contribution came from Deandra Dottin, who scored a quickfire 53 runs off just 38 balls, including three sixes and six boundaries. Her explosive innings played a crucial role in setting a target for the Warriors.
In response, the Guyana Amazon Warriors, led by Erin Burns’ stellar performance, also ended their innings with 128 runs at the loss of 5 wickets. Burns played a remarkable knock, scoring 61 runs off 50 balls. Consequently, the match ended in a tie, leading to the excitement of a Super Over.

Deandra Dottin, the star performer who led her team to victory, boasts an impressive athletic background, excelling in javelin throw even before she made her mark in cricket. She began competing in track and field events such as javelin throw and shot put at the junior level from the age of 13-14. In 2007, she excelled at the CAC Junior Championship, securing gold medals in both javelin and shot put events. Furthermore, she has also won gold in javelin throw at the Under-20 CARIFTA Games.
