The right-handed batsman scored 4722 runs in 78 first-class matches in his career spanning nearly 16 years, which included 12 centuries and 22 half-centuries.  He scored 2942 runs in 85 List A matches.  Teja was once a part of India's Under-19 team and played with players like Virat Kohli, Piyush Chawla.  Not only this, he was bought by Deccan Chargers in the first season of IPL, where he also played some matches with Rohit Sharma.  Ravi Teja is a special friend of Indian batsman Hanuma Vihari.
