Indian captain Rohit Sharma (Rohit Sharma) accepted that Team India (Indian Cricket Team) some players need ‘clarity of role’. But instead of trying to start again, his predecessor Virat Kohli (Virat Kohli) Will take the work forward. In his first interaction with the media after assuming full responsibility as ODI captain, Rohit kept himself away from questions like the possibility of making him the Test captain. Rohit has Opening ODI against West Indies Before the virtual press conference, he said, ‘It is always important that everyone together performs the role given to them well. To move forward, it is important for us to have clarity on the role of certain players in the team.

The captain said that he will talk to these players. He said, ‘I think if we can, then we should do it right and talk to the player about it. I think we can get what we want from different players at different times of need. Rohit has not done badly whenever he has led the team in Kohli’s absence and as a successful captain of the franchise, Rohit feels that he is more upset after the 0-3 loss in the series against South Africa. Doesn’t need to be. They said,

Look, we don’t need to change much, we just need to adapt to different conditions of the game. In the last few years we have played very good one-day cricket, for more than a few years. So a series loss doesn’t mean that we should give up.

Told lessons to South Africa series

Rohit was not a part of the series due to injury but admitted that the South African series was good to teach. He said, ‘It is such that we have to understand and learn something in our game. The South Africa series was good for us to learn what we didn’t do together. It is not always possible that only one or two players perform. From where Virat has left, we have to take it forward.

Rohit will take forward Kohli’s work

India have achieved over 70 per cent success in ODIs under Kohli which means he needs to carry on the good work his predecessor did as captain. Rohit said, ‘I mean when Virat was captaining, I was the vice-captain, so we were leading the team in the same way. Where he (Virat) has left me, I just need to take that forward. Not that I have to come and make some big changes.

He believes that most players know what is expected of them. He said, ‘The team knows a lot about what is expected of them and you want to continue with the same ‘template’ (method). We don’t need to change much, we have a good team and we are good players. It’s just a matter of adapting and being ready to do different things at different times.
