India West Indies in the first T20 match by 68 runs. This victory of Team India was mainly contributed by strong bowling, which restricted the Windies team full of powerful batsmen for just 122 runs. India’s batting could not make that much impact in comparison. Team India made a score of 190 runs, but mainly two batsmen played and this is the reason that despite the victory, the captain Rohit Sharma taught the lesson to his comrades.

In this match held in Trinidad on July 29, Team India scored 190 runs for the loss of 6 wickets while batting first. In this, captain Rohit scored the highest 64 runs (44 balls). At the same time, after Rohit, Dinesh Karthik batted vigorously in the last over and reached this score. Karthik shared a 52-run partnership with Ravichandran Ashwin after the 16th over. Karthik remained unbeaten on 41 runs in 19 balls.

Rohit’s knowledge to the batsmen

Batsmen like Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja, who opened for the team, could not last long and captain Rohit raised the same issue and informed his teammates to stay on the crease. After the match, Rohit said, “We knew it was going to be a bit difficult, it was not easy to shoot initially. The guys who are at the crease should bat longer and the way we finished the first innings, it was a great effort.”

Team India did not expect big scores

The Indian captain admitted that after the start, he did not expect a score like 190. The veteran opener said, “When we finished the first 10 overs, we did not think that we would reach the score of 190 runs. The boys put in a great effort and the ending was great too. We are trying to improve on these three aspects of the game.”
