In the successful countries of the World Women’s Boxing Championship, India has won so many medals in 21 years that just keep counting!

Among all the countries participating in the World Women’s Boxing Championship, India ranks in the top 5 in terms of winning the most medals.

India again dominated the World Women's Boxing Championship.  The reason is not one but three - Nikhat Zareen, Praveen Hooda and Manisha.  These three daughters of India have punched the ring medal of World Boxing.  And, with this, the total number of medals won by India in the 21-year history of the Women's World Boxing Championship has now gone up to 39.  Nikhat even won the gold medal. Mary Kom, by this name Hindustan is known to all.  This is the name that the world calls the 'Queen of the Ring'.  The talk of women's world boxing is incomplete without Mary Kom.  Due to the focus being on the Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham, Mary Kom may not have been punched in this time's World Women's Boxing Championship, but she is the most successful boxer in this ring. Mary Kom became the world champion for the first time the next year i.e. 2002, when she won gold in the 45 kg category in Antalya, after winning India silver with her punch in the opening edition of the championship in 2001.  After this, he punched gold in the 46 kg category in the years 2005, 2006 and 2008.  She became the world champion for the 5th time in the year 2010, when she took part in the 48 kg category.
