In terms of raising foreign investment, Gujarat lags behind Haryana, Delhi, slips to sixth place

According to data from DPIIT, which comes under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Gujarat’s performance in attracting foreign investment has declined eight-fold. Foreign investment of Rs 1,62,830 crore came in Gujarat in 2020-21.

Indian Express According to the report, Karnataka tops the FDI list with Rs 1,62,830 crore for the year 2021-22. After this, Maharashtra is at number two with Rs 1,14,964 crore. During the same period, FDI worth Rs 60,000 crore came in Delhi. On the other hand, Tamil Nadu (Rs 22,396 crore) and Haryana (Rs 20,971 crore) were ranked.
Among the top six states, only Gujarat and Maharashtra saw a decline in FDI inflows. Among all the other states, Karnataka recorded an increase of 187 per cent, Delhi 50 per cent, Tamil Nadu 30 per cent and Haryana 67 per cent.
