Apart from Suryakumar Yadav’s explosive batting, Deepak Hooda’s part-time off-spin also contributed to Team India’s resounding victory in the second T20 match against New Zealand.

There are talks of change in the Indian cricket team in T20 format. In the form of demands, suggestions and reactions, there are talks of changing the leadership of the team to the members. After the failure of the T20 World Cup, discussions about making Hardik Pandya the captain are also on the rise. Currently, Pandya is leading Team India in the T20 series in New Zealand, where India easily defeated the hosts in the second match. What Hardik said after this match, he told that Hardik is now ready to run the team in his own way.
The second match of the T20 series was played between India and New Zealand at Mount Maunganui on Sunday 20 November. Suryakumar Yadav made maximum headlines in this match. The star batsman looted the gathering by scoring his second century of T20 career. Then the bowlers bowled out New Zealand for just 126 runs to give India an easy win by 65 runs. Part time off-spinner Deepak Hooda also played an important role in this big victory of Team India and took 4 wickets.
Talking about this victory of Team India and especially the importance and need of part-time bowlers, Captain Pandya said that he expects help from the other batsmen of the team as well through the ball. After the win, Hardik said, “The ground conditions were very wet, so credit goes to the bowlers (for the win). I have bowled a lot, want to see more bowling options in the coming times. It won’t always work but I want as many batsmen as possible to contribute with the ball.
The Indian team so far has had batsmen like captain Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer in the top order, none of whom bowls. In such a situation, cricket experts have often been scolding Team India for this weakness and failing to overcome it, and India has also seen its lack in big tournaments.
This option has come across Team India in the form of Deepak Hooda, who is a good batsman as well as a useful part-time off-spinner. Team India, however, in the matches in which they got opportunities during the Asia Cup and then the T20 World Cup, they were not made to bowl, while they were also sent down for batting. Questions were constantly raised on this.
