Government issued advisory to vehicle manufacturers for flex fuel engine, petrol bill will reduce
The government has given car makers six months to install flex-fuel engines in vehicles running on multiple fuels.
Advisory issued for flex fuel engines
In order to reduce dependence on petrol, the government has issued advisory to automakers regarding flex fuel engines. Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari gave this information on Thursday. He said that soon cars will be able to run on 100 percent ethanol, which will end dependence on petrol.
Car companies got 6 months time
Nitin Gadkari said that just a day ago, I have signed a file advising car manufacturers to make flex-fuel engines. We have given carmakers six months to install flex-fuel engines in vehicles that run on multiple fuels, Gadkari said, adding that companies like TVS Motors and Bajaj Auto have already introduced new models for their two-wheelers and three-wheelers. The production of flex-fuel-friendly engines has started. Gadkari said, “Soon four wheelers will run on 100 percent ethanol. So we will no longer need petrol and money will also be saved by using green fuel.
What are Flex Fuel Engines
Flex fuel engine is a kind of internal combustion engine which can run on more than one type of fuel and if desired, it can also be run on mixed fuel. In this, a mixture of ethanol and methanol can be used along with petrol. With the advent of technology like fuel composition sensor and ECU programming, the engine can use the fuel automatically by setting the quantity. Flax fuel reduces fuel costs. At the same time, vehicles running on such fuel spread less pollution. In such a situation, the Union Minister has appealed to all the automobile companies to start this initiative.
9 thousand crore project gift given to Uttar Pradesh
At the same time, today Nitin Gadkari has gifted projects worth more than 9 thousand crore rupees to Uttar Pradesh. These projects are in Meerut and Muzaffarnagar. Some of these schemes have been inaugurated today, while the foundation stone of some has been laid. After inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of such schemes worth Rs 8364 crore in Meerut, Nitin Gadkari said that this project will go a long way in helping farmers take their produce to the markets. He said that ethanol, hydrogen and other bio fuels have great importance in the economy. Ethanol is prepared from corn and sugarcane and there is no shortage of these two crops in India, so flax fuel can be easily available in the country. In view of this, the government is making the infrastructure of sugarcane growing areas better.
