But just before joining the company tells you that ‘you are not eligible for this job’. You don’t have the required qualifications.’ And takes back the offer letter from you… what a big blow it will be for you.
The same has happened with many engineers and technical graduates. They were taken away by giving them jobs. There are big IT companies like Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra doing this.
…hence offer letter invalid
According to reports, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra gave jobs to many candidates but stopped them from joining. Most of them are freshers. That is, those who apply for jobs after completing their studies immediately, who do not have much experience in the industry.
After clearing several rounds of interviews for months, these candidates were given job offer letters. After that it was said- ‘It has been learned that you do not fulfill the academic eligibility criteria required for the job. Hence your offer letter is declared invalid.’
Is this a sign of recession?
This has happened when there is talk of recession in the IT industry all over the world. When big companies like Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Apple have stopped Hiring. At the same time, many companies have also done large scale layoffs. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has even said that ‘Our plan is to reduce the number of employees present in the company by next year.’
However, till now no organization has formally spoken about Recession. But the way IT companies around the world are stopping their hiring and taking away jobs, experts are definitely guessing this.
