German tennis player Alexander Zverev was forced to withdraw from the match against Rafael Nadal due to injury in the semi-final at Roland Garros.

The player, ranked third in the world rankings, posted a picture on Instagram in which he is standing in front of a plane with crutches and special shoes to deal with the injury on his right foot.  He wrote, 'Based on the initial medical examination, it appears that I have a serious injury to several ligaments of my right leg.'(AFP)

Zverev was then taken out of the court with the help of a wheelchair.  Several minutes later he came on the court with crutches and said that he would have to retire from the match.  (AFP)
