Film on Anandamath: Preparations for making a film on Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel ‘Anandmath’ begin, Bahubali writer Vijayendra will write the story

Vijayendra Prasad is preparing to write a script for a film based on Bengali novelist Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s famous novel ‘Anandmath’. Writer-turned-filmmaker Ram Kamal Mukherjee and former Zee Studio chief Sujoy Kutty made the announcement on the 128th death anniversary of novelist Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay today. The film will be produced by Shailendra Kumar of SS Entertainment and Suraj Sharma of PK Entertainment and will be made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.

Prasad said in a statement, “When Sujoy approached me in this regard, I was surprised. I had read this novel many years ago and to be honest I did not think that today’s generation would be able to relate to this subject. He said, but then, I met Ram Kamal and he shared his thoughts about ‘Anandmath’ with me. He has a completely different opinion about the novel, which is not only commercially beneficial but also deals with human emotions. After a few meetings, I am now looking forward to working on the subject with a whole new perspective.
It will be a big challenge for me to recreate the magic of ‘Anandmath’. According to the filmmakers, it will be a big budget film, which will be shot in Hyderabad, West Bengal and London. The shooting of the film is likely to start by the end of this year.
