Effect of inflation! Soaps and detergents become costlier by 20 percent, HUL hikes prices

Country’s largest FMGC company Hindustan Unilever (Hindustan Unilever, has increased the prices of soaps and detergents from 3 per cent to 20 per cent. HUL Products in the K Wheel, Rin, Surf Excel and Lifebuoy range have become costlier. Due to the increasing cost of raw materials, the company has increased the prices of these products. Let us tell you that due to increase in input cost, the company was forced to increase the prices of several similar rounds last year as well.

HUL has increased the price of Surf Excel bar the most. This will make it costlier by Rs. The company has increased the price of Surf Excel bar by 20 percent. Now its price has gone from Rs 10 to Rs 12.

Pears soap becomes costlier by Rs 7

The price of 125 gm pack of Lifebuoy has been increased from Rs 29 to Rs 31, while the cost of 125 gm bar of Pears soap has gone up to Rs 83 from Rs 76.

For Rin, the company has increased the price of its bundle pack (of four 250 gm bars) from Rs 72 to Rs 76 and its 250 gm single bar from Rs 18 to Rs 19.

According to a Business Standard report, in November, the company had increased prices by 1-33 per cent across its portfolio of products. The maker of Lux soap, however, is not the only one to hike the prices.

This company’s flour and basmati rice became expensive

Adani Wilmar had told Business Standard last month that it would increase the prices of its packaged wheat flour by 5-8 per cent and basmati rice by 8-10 per cent in January as input prices have risen.

Parle Products will announce another hike in prices in the March quarter. The company will increase the prices by 4-5 percent. It had hiked prices in the October-December quarter.

Dabur India said in December that it is monitoring the inflation situation and if inflation persists, there may be an increase in prices in the fourth quarter. Inflation in recent quarters has ranged from per cent.

CavinCare will increase the prices of its shampoos and scheme care products by 2-3 per cent this month.
