If the farmers’ crop has been damaged due to heavy rains for the last few days or if the entire crop has been ruined due to floods, then you do not need to worry at all. If you have registered yourself in the Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme, then the government will compensate you for the loss. Let us tell you that under the Prime Minister or PM Fasal Bima Yojana, crops get protection from risks like drought, storm, storm, unseasonal rain, flood etc. The main objective of this scheme is to provide insurance cover to the farmers at an affordable rate in case of loss due to natural calamities. So far, about 36 crore farmers have got the benefit of this scheme.
Take advantage of crop insurance like this
Farmers of many states of the country can take advantage of PM Fasal Bima Yojana. For this, farmers have to fill an application form. This form is available in both offline and online mode. If farmers want to apply online, then they can apply by visiting PM Fasal Bima Yojana website https://pmfby.gov.in. On the other hand, for offline application, farmers can apply by visiting the nearest bank, cooperative society or CSC (Common Service Center). Farmers have to keep in mind here that they have to apply for crop insurance within 10 days of sowing.
This work will have to be done in case of crop failure
If your crop has suffered heavy damage due to rain or natural calamity, the first question that arises in your mind is what will happen now. As soon as the crop is affected by these calamities, it will have to be informed to the insurance company within 72 hours. The insurance company will see how much rain has affected your crop. After making the assessment, your claim will be considered and the amount of compensation for the damage caused will be sent directly to your account.
