Chairman of ISRO, K.Srinivas was honored with the ‘Kalam’ award.

K. Sivan (Kailasavadivoo Sivan) was honored with the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Award by the Tamil Nadu Government. The Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) was awarded for outstanding involvement in advancing the science and technology of the county.

The Tamil Nadu Government has said that he lead to the successful launch of Chandrayaan 2 mission. Sivan (Kailasavadivoo Sivan) has not yet received the award. He will later take the award from Palaniswami, the Chief Minister of the state. The Dr. APJ Kalam Award is given to those who work for the scientific development, humanities and welfare of the students. The Tamil Nadu government gave the award to the residents of Tamil Nadu. The award is awarded with a gold medals of 8gm and ₹500000 cash.

K. Sivan (Kailasavadivoo Sivan) studied in a Tamil medium public school. K. Sivan (Kailasavadivoo Sivan) said that when he was studying in college, his parents helped him study. And that’s why he was admitted to the college next to his house. He changed his mind about BSc in Mathematics after scoring 100 percent. He had to spend his childhood without shoes. According to K. Sivan (Kailasavadivoo Sivan), he used to attend college wearing traditional dhoti so whenen he was admitted to MIT, he wore pants for the first time.
