Arunachal Pradesh Paper Leak Case: CBI Files Third Charge Sheet

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has completed its investigation into the paper leak case associated with the Assistant Engineer (Civil) examination organized by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC). This investigation has led to the submission of a third supplementary chargesheet, as disclosed by an official spokesperson.

Overview of the Paper Leak Incident

The controversy surrounding the paper leak involves an aspiring candidate’s mother, who allegedly issued a cheque worth five lakh rupees to an accused intermediary in order to secure access to the leaked questions of the Assistant Engineer (Civil) examination conducted in 2022. This action has raised significant concerns regarding the integrity of the examination process in Arunachal Pradesh.

Charges Against Multiple Individuals

According to the CBI spokesperson, both the intermediary and the candidate were named in the initial chargesheet filed on December 8, 2022. In addition to these two individuals, a total of six others were charged, including a former teacher from a private coaching institute and the previous Deputy Secretary-cum-Examination Controller of the APPSC.
