Boult CruiseCam X3 Review: Is This ₹5,999 Dash Cam Worth It?

The rising incidents of crime during the day and accidents while driving have led many people to install dash cams in their vehicles. Auto companies like Hyundai are addressing this need by launching cars equipped with built-in dash cams. These devices can provide crucial video evidence in case of accidents or legal issues.

If you’re in the market for a new dash cam, the Boult CruiseCam X3 has recently made a notable entry into the Indian market. To uncover its strengths and weaknesses, we conducted testing on this dash cam. Let’s explore what our experience was like with this device.

Design

In terms of build quality, the Boult CruiseCam X3 features an aluminum body that gives it a premium look. The company claims this dash cam can endure all kinds of Indian weather, operating effectively in temperatures ranging from 85 degrees Celsius to -25 degrees Celsius. The design includes a display on the back, buttons, and a camera sensor, complemented by the Boult branding.

Features

The Boult CruiseCam X3 is equipped with a 3.7-inch HD display that captures an ultra-wide field of view. It includes a 1080p resolution rear camera, while the front camera boasts a 4-megapixel sensor, alongside a 2-megapixel rear sensor.

Our testing revealed that this dash cam performs impressively when it comes to video capture. The front camera provides 2K resolution, and the rear camera supports 1080p resolution, resulting in excellent video quality overall.

The Wi-Fi support feature allows you to view video footage via the Boult Cruise app. It’s important to note that this dash cam uses your car’s USB port for power. One of my favorite features is the G-sensor, which continues to record video in the event of an accident.

Boult Dashcam Under 6000

During the day, video captures are clear and detail retention is excellent. Notably, this dash cam excels at night as well, performing well in low-light conditions.

Battery Backup

You might be wondering about the battery backup of this dash cam. Notably, the company has opted for a capacitor instead of a regular battery. This means that as long as your car is on, the dash cam will operate continuously without interruptions. An additional advantage is that without a battery, the risk of overheating and potential battery failure is reduced.

Our Verdict

As with any product, the Boult CruiseCam X3 has its pros and cons. With excellent camera quality, impressive video capabilities, and features like the G-sensor, it certainly makes an impact. However, it is worth noting that the price may seem steep for some consumers, as it retails for ₹5,999 on Boult’s official website.
