BMW X3 diesel SUV launched in India, know what are the features and price
After introducing two petrol variants of the 2022 X3 SUV earlier this year, BMW India has added a diesel variant to the range.

BMW on Thursday launched the X3 SUV in India (BMW X3 xDrive20d SUV) has been launched in the diesel variant. The price of the new car has been kept at 65.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It is manufactured locally in India at the company’s plant in Chennai. The SUV will be available from today at official BMW dealerships. Introduced as a luxury variant, the new BMW X3 xDrive20d is available in multiple color options including Mineral White, Phytonic Blue, Brooklyn Grey, Sophisto Grey, Black Sapphire and Carbon Black. Two petrol cars have already been introduced in the X3 series. X3 xDrive 30i SportX Plus And X3 xDrive 30i M Sports included. They are priced at Rs 59.90 lakh and Rs 65.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India) respectively.
In terms of looks, the X3 xDrive20d luxury variant is similar to its petrol sibling, with the only change being the introduction of a turbocharged diesel powertrain. Power in the 2022 BMW X3 xDrive20d luxury variant comes from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder, twinturbo diesel engine that can generate 190bhp power and 400Nm torque. The car accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 7.9 seconds with a top speed of 213 kmph.
The SUV comes with 4 driving modes
Transmission is controlled from the same 8-speed automatic Steptronic Sport transmission that gets automatic hold function and paddle shifters from the petrol model. It also gets BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive (AWD) system with Hill Descent Control (HDC) and Hill Start Assist (HSA) as standard fitment. As far as the driving modes are concerned, the 2022 BMW X3 xDrive20d Luxury Edition also comes with four driving modes – ECO PRO, COMFORT, SPORT, SPORT+.
The 2022 BMW X3 xDrive20d features a grille along with a set of customized LED headlights with matrix function. It comes with 19 inch alloy wheels. At the rear, it gets LED taillamps with a black border. Flush-fitted dual exhaust pipes and a sportier rear bumper can also be found with this variant.
Cabin and Safety Features
The 2022 model also gets an updated cabin with new features. Apart from this, it also gets multi-function sport steering wheel, electric seat adjustment with memory function, panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, and three-zone automatic climate control with redesigned air vents. The boot space of 550 liters can be expanded to 1,600 liters by folding down the 40/20/40 split rear seat backrest. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with BMW Live Cockpit Professional and 3D navigation is standard. The 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system can also be controlled through BMW gesture controls. Apart from this, you also get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Harman Kardon sound system.
For safety, the 2022 BMW X3 gets 6 airbags, Parking Assistant Plus with 360 View Camera, Attention Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold, Side-Impact Protection. , electronic vehicle immobilizer and crash sensor, ISOFIX child seat mounting and integrated emergency spare wheel below the load floor.
