BMW iX EV debuts in India, the car will get a range of 425 km on a single charge

BMW offers eDrive technology on the iX to power all the four wheels from dual electric motors that combine with two lithium-ion batteries producing 76.6 kWh.

BMW India (BMW India) on Thursday announced the launch of its popular all-electric SUV IX in the country. BMW IX (BMW iX) Pure Electric SUV (Pure Electric SUV) promises a range of 425 km from its dual lithium-ion battery pack. BMW has already announced the price of this car, which is available at Rs 1.16 crore (ex-showroom). The BMW iX can be charged with both AC and DC fast chargers. A 150 kW DC fast charger allows the BMW iX to be charged up to 80 per cent in 31 minutes giving a range of 95 km. Using a 50 kW DC charger, the electric SV can be charged up to 80 percent in 73 minutes, while an AC charger can fully charge the SUV in seven hours.

The BMW IX comes with an attractive design which includes sharp dual-beam LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, large kidney grille, sculpted bumper and 3D bonnet. Coming to the side profile, sporty and large alloy wheels, flared shoulders, rectangular wheel arches, frameless windows, body integrated door handles and clean look add to the visual appeal of the car. The rear gets sleek LED taillights.

Inside the cabin, the BMW ix delivers a premium appeal with its layout and great features. The cabin gets a minimal visual and focuses more on the comfort and space for the passengers.

9-inch touchscreen curved glass infotainment display driver’s side, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, race-car-inspired hexagonal steering wheel, sky lounge panorama glass roof, multifunction seats with massage function, leather upholstery, ambient lighting, 18- Speaker Harman Kardon Surround Sound System etc. The SUV offers boot storage of up to 1,750-litre capacity.

BMW offers eDrive technology on the IX so that all four wheels are powered by dual electric motors that combine with two lithium-ion batteries producing 76.6 kWh. The SUV generates a total power of 326 hp and is capable of accelerating from 0-100 kmph in 6.1 seconds. The car gets three different driving modes – Personal, Sport and Efficient.

BMW claims that the IX Electric SUV will feature Shy Tech or stealth technology which includes sensor, camera and radar technology with an intelligence kidney grille, body aging sensor, flush door opener, washer below the front logo, a camera with a washer under the rear Is.

Despite being an electric car, it can produce driving sound through IconicSounds Electric technology.
