10 teams took part in the IPL 2022 season and during this, 74 matches were played at only 6 venues for 64 days, out of which 70 matches were played in Mumbai and Pune only.

After waiting for two years, finally the entire season of the Indian Premier League was organized in India. IPL 2022, which started on 26 March, ended in a grand style with the final on 29 May. Due to the crisis of Corona virus infection, it was being organized in UAE for the last two seasons. Last year, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had tried to organize it in the country itself, but then had to stop midway. Now this time BCCI has achieved success in this. The tournament was organized in three grounds in Mumbai and one ground in Pune, besides Ahmedabad and Kolkata and all these grounds witnessed exciting matches. BCCI has announced a cash reward of Rs 1.25 crore for the curators for preparing the pitch and ground in the best possible manner for the 74 matches of the season.

Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Jay Shah announced the award for the curators of all six venues on Monday, May 30, a day after the tournament ended. Shah took to Twitter to salute the curators and said, “It gives me immense pleasure to announce a reward of Rs 1.25 crore for those who gave us the best matches in IPL 2022. Our unknown heroes – the curators and groundsmen of all 6 IPL venues.”
